Karni serves as KI’s in-house medical expert, where she works closely with the entire research team. She is responsible for organizing clinical data, analyzing medical information, and she participates in defining the institute’s research agendas. She is a resident in pediatric medicine at Schneider Children’s Medical Center.
Previously, Karni held professional positions in both the medical and business domains. She completed her general medical internship at Beilinson Hospital, Israel. Prior to that, Karni participated in a fascinating exchange program at Cincinnati Children’s, one of the leading hospitals of its kind in the United States. In addition, she worked as a research assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in collaboration with McMaster University, Canada.
In the business arena, Karni built marketing and strategic programs for several leading tech companies, start-ups, and pharmaceutical firms. She was part of the business development teams at Medial EarlySign and Cisco Systems, and she worked as a research and teaching assistant at several Israeli business schools.
Karni received her MD from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University (Dean’s Honor Award recipient), holds an MBA (cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, participated in the international exchange program at the University of Amsterdam, and holds a BA in economics, also from Hebrew University.
